Aubrey Connatser recently spoke to the Dallas Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, explaining how to deal with social media in the face of a client’s divorce and how to testify (truthfully) in court about it. Her talk was an instant hit and prompted these therapists to ask her to return.
“We invited Aubrey to speak on the intersection of technology, the law, and our therapy practices,” says Rhett Smith, vice president of the DAMFT, “and she hit it out of the park. She was fun, knowledgeable, and engaging. Everyone enjoyed having her present and we are looking forward to having her back to speak.”
Aubrey also does a basic speech called Family Law 101 in which she relates everything any professional group should know about family law to do their jobs well and serve their clients.
“I get called to speak to a lot of mental health professionals,” says Aubrey, who earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin before going to law school. “But I also can relate this to business audiences, such as accountants, financial planners, and human resources people. Family law affects everyone. We all know someone who is or has gone through a divorce or child custody or visitation case.”
Connatser Associates Christine Powers and Abby Gregory are also available for breakfast meetings, lunch ‘n learn sessions, seminars and workshops. Christine enjoys talking with non-family lawyer groups and Abby is very knowledgeable in the area of collaborative law.
They are all members of LawTalkTexas, which books attorneys to speak to groups in North Texas and across the state. To learn more about the Connatser Family Law attorneys and LawTalkTexas, go to www.lawtalktexas.com.
